Originally supposed to launch in mcpe maps August alongside the modern Xbox One and PS4 editions of Minecraft, 4J Studios' PS Vita port from the popular franchise was unfortunately delayed and it is still currently in development.  Even after Minecraft eventually launched late on current-gen platforms earlier this month, the planned handheld version was further postponed.  Giving fans an update on the development process on Minecraft: PS Vita Edition, 4J Studios confirmed on Sept. 16 that they are still hard at work on removing bugs but anticipate to send the title off for certification soon.

While an upcoming update for Minecraft: Pocket Edition was being discussed on Reddit, fans began discussing whether the same features visiting the mobile version with the sandbox creation title could be possible around the 3DS.  Offering clarity on the subject, Mojang chose to reveal to fans that a Nintendo 3DS edition of Minecraft may likely run around the same code because the Pocket Edition rather than the existing Xbox 360 and PS3 engine that may also be employed to the upcoming PS Vita version.
